one night at my last shop at work we used to hang out there late at night, just partying and having fun, one night I was hanging out there with Jason (Phillips), and he got a tattoo of one of our other friends. It's about 2 in the morning and I finally decide, "Okay, I have to go home." Well, this woman walks in a crazy stripper with nine-inch heels that's like damn- just woke up.
He said, "I want a tattoo." So I thought, "Okay, let's see what he wants because this might be interesting." So he told me he wanted two words I can't remember where it started like the front of his hips. And he just got his leg tattooed.
So we all thought it was weird, funny, and we wanted to see what would happen, and there was no one else in the store so who cares? So I got her tattooed, and it got really weird because her femininity was exposed and all.
He asked for a break, so we took a break and he pulled out this old-school camera. He walks around the shop and he's like, "Can I take a picture of you guys and the shop? and the stuff?" We were like, "Yeah, sure." That's just one story, I have.

Tell us about your shop/studio – what's the atmosphere like/guide us through what clients can expect when they walk through your door? So I'm a co-owner of what I consider the most luxurious store in Kansas City. We went for the upscale feel. So as soon as clients walk through the door, they're greeted, they're offered drinks and snacks, and they get to sit on some of the pre-1930s furniture. The music is never loud, but it's there. It's ambient. I think we were just trying to set up a nice classy feeling throughout the store. That way they know they are accepted.
